Kids Say the Strangest Things - Exercise IS?
What is the year? Ask an adult and you are likely to hear , "One thing I have to do to lose weight. " , " When you work, you are exercising. " Or " Any physical activity every day , I will keep me healthy. "According to Wikipedia ( the free encyclopedia on the Internet) exercise is a bodily activity that enhances or maintains physical fitness and overall health and wellness a person . Basically , adults understand that exercise is important to our health and wellbeing.
Okay ... Now , ask a child , " What is the year? " You can hear : "I do not know. " " Something my mother because she thinks she is fat ?" Or " Something to do what is healthy for you? " note the question mark.
Children are not born with immediate understanding , "Oh, we have to be to stay healthy and to look and feel good . " Children learn from their environment . So, as adults, we must instill the principle that eating right and exercising can help maintain a healthy body and a healthy lifestyle .
Why children need exercise ? It's simple ... I see many children every day who are overweight , have many health problems or are sick . Children are so easily mocked and society , basing everything on how we look , it is difficult for these children to feel part of society. We do not want children "fit " in society ... we want children to be " fit" in our society is healthy and happy.
With all the resources available today , there should be no reason why there are so many overweight and inactive children in the world today. But guess what ? There are now more than ever and getting worse . When I look at my class of 25 students , one to every third child is overweight .
The children always sit in front of a TV or playing video games for hours. Parents often work late because you simply must earn two incomes to make ends meet . Families come home so late in the day, eating before bedtime ! Whoa !
Children need exercise ! It is important to develop a routine of physical activity at an early age . This will give the children the experience and knowledge of how to maintain a healthy and active life as an adult. Children will be happy because we feel good after we exercise . The children will be healthier. Think about it ... keep children in a healthy lifestyle and active may even reduce our medical bills not only as a child but as an adult too. Not worth it for our children to play sports ?
We have to reach a point in our society when we ask an adult , what is the year? The only answer we hear is ...
"Exercise ... It's easy, it's something I do since I was a child ..."
